Peach Twig Borer Anarsia lineatella

Zeller, 1839

Wingspan 11-14 mm.

On the continent this species is considered a pest of fruit trees due to the larval habit of feeding on such fruit as plums and peaches.

In the British Isles it has generally been encountered when it has been reared from imported fruit. A number of records attracted to light have recently been attributed to a new species, A. innoxiella, in a paper published in 2017. (See description of A. innoxiella for differences).

The adult on the continent is generally at large between June and August.
