Anacampsis temerella - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Anacampsis temerella

(Lienig & Zeller, 1846)

Wingspan c. 12mm.

This mainly coastal, nationally scarce species is distributed mainly in the north-west coastal area of England and Wales, although it has been recorded in Scotland and possibly in parts of southern England.

The adults fly in July and August, and are darker than the other British Anacampsis species, with velvety markings.

The larvae feed in a spinning in the terminal shoots of creeping willow Salix repens.
