Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Spotted Sulphur Acontia trabealis

(Scopoli, 1763)

Wingspan 18-20 mm.

Formerly resident in the Breckland district of East Anglia, this is now an extinct species in Britain, not having been recorded since the early 1960's.

It may possible occur again as a migrant, since scattered records were occasionally encountered in the south, though none in recent times.

The larval foodplant is field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
