A scarce and local species, occurring on chalk downs or other calcareous soil, and found in the southern counties of England.
The distinctively-marked larva feeds on marjoram (Origanum vulgare), rolling or folding a leaf and concealed within.
The ochreous adult moths have two small black dots on the forewing, and fly in July and August.
