Acleris sparsana

Wingspan 18-22 mm.
A variable species, sometimes with a distinctive triangular marking on the upperwing, but often with a greyish ground colour, obscurely marked with specks of darker and lighter.
Fairly common over most of Britain, the larval foodplants are beech (Fagus) and sycamore (Acer).
The flight period is from August through to October.
