Acleris bergmanniana - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Acleris bergmanniana

(Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan 10-14 mm.

This small but pretty yellow species is quite common over most of Britain, occupying gardens and hedgerows; the larvae feed on the leaves and shoots of rose (Rosa) bushes.

The upperwing is marked with metallic blue-grey striations, edged with rufous, and the two black dots are in fact small raised tufts of black scales.

Flying from late afternoon onwards during June and July, it is also attracted to light.
