Lesser Cream Wave Scopula immutata

(Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan 24-27 mm.

A relatively small member of the Geometridae, the Lesser Cream Wave inhabits damp areas such as fens, bogs and damp meadows, and flies from dusk into the night during June to August.

It occurs locally over much of England, Wales and Ireland, but is much scarcer further north and rare in Scotland.

In the wild, the larvae feed on meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) and valerian (Valeriana officinalis)..
