Spotted Clover Protoschinia scutosa - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Spotted Clover Protoschinia scutosa

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan c.30-36mm.

This is a scarce immigrant species to the British Isles, with individuals typically occurring between July and September, and most records from eastern and south-eastern England. Occasional influxes of several individuals have occurred with other migrant activity.

The adult moths are rather distinctive and unlikely to be confused with any other species within these shores.

The distribution abroad covers Europe, North Africa and Asia.
