Pleurota aristella

(Linnaeus, 1767)

Wingspan c. 21mm.

This species has been encountered on a number of occasions on Jersey, Channel Islands, but has not yet been reliably recorded from mainland Britain.

The moths fly between July and August, and are quite distinctive with their elongated labial palps.

The biology of the early stages is not well described, but the larvae may feed on a number of low-growing plants.
