Wingspan 26-29 mm

A local species that is restricted to the south-east of England where it has a predominantly coastal distribution.

It inhabits heaths and commons where it flies in July.

The larvae feed on the needles of gorse (Ulex europaeus) in which they spin a dense, conspicuous silken web.
