Brindled White-spot Parectropis similaria

Wingspan 33-39 mm.

A local species, occurring in the south of England and Wales.

There is some variation in the intensity of the markings of the adults, which are to be found on the wing in May and June.

The caterpillars live during the autumn, eating the foliage of oak (Quercus) and birch (Betula).
