Neofriseria singula - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Neofriseria singula

(Staudinger, 1876)

Wingspan c.14 mm.

This rather scarce species occupies heathland habitats and is found nowadays mainly in the south-east of England and the Brecks of East Anglia, although there are earlier records from north-west England.

The larvae feed on sheep's sorrel (Rumex acetosella) in a tube made from silk on the lower stem.

Adult moths fly in June and July when they may be attracted to light.
