Brown-line Bright-eye Mythimna conigera

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 30-35 mm.

Fairly common in much of Britain, the species occupies mostly woodland fringes and roadside verges.

The adults fly in June and July, from dusk, when they will visit various flowers.

The larvae are nocturnal and feed on grasses, particularly cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata) and common couch (Elymus repens).
