Wingspan 9-12 mm.

This is a local moth with a distribution in southern England and Wales and the West Country.

It is bivoltine - being found in flight in June to July and then again in September to October.

The foodplants, which it mines, are wild carrot (Daucus carota) and also burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella saxifraga).
