Silver Cloud Egira conspicillaris

(Linnaeus, 1758)


Wingspan36-42 mm.

A local species, occurring mainly around the Severn Valley in the south-west of England.

Occupying open woodland and orchards, the adults are early flyers, being on the wing during April and May.

The larva has yet to be found in the wild in Britain, but feed on the foliage of a number of trees and bushes when reared in captivity.
