Eana osseana

(Scopoli, 1763)


Wingspan 16-23 mm.

This locally common species is found on grassland, downland and moorland over much of the British Isles.

It is quite a large species within its group, with a wingspan of around 20mm, but has a relatively obscure appearance.

The main flight period is June to July, when it is attracted to light.

The larvae feed on a wide range of low-growing herbaceous plants.
