Barrett's Marbled Coronet Conisania andalusica

(Staudinger, 1859)

Wingspan 35-42 mm.

Occupying coastal habitats, this species is found locally in south-west England, south Wales and southern Ireland.

The rather variable adults are on the wing during June and July, when they can be attracted to light.

The larvae feed inside the roots of coastal plants such as campion (Silene spp.) and rock sea-spurrey (Spergularia rupicola).
