Wingspan c. 15mm.
A relatively small species, notable for its lack of patterning, except for a slight reticulated appearance which is sometimes barely visible.
It occurs locally throughout much of northern England, Wales and Scotland on high ground, and in Ireland on the limestone habitat of the Burren.
The larva feeds on a number of plants in the chosen habitat, including bilberry (Vaccinium) and bog myrtle (Myrica gale), in rolled or spun leaves.
Adult moths fly on sunny afternoons in May and June.
