Wingspan 16-22 mm.
A smallish, but brightly coloured moth, with noticeably long antennae.
Occurring throughout Britain, and flying in July and August, it is nocturnal and comes to light.
The foodplants are various deciduous trees, including oak (Quercus) and beech (Fagus).
