Dried Currant Moth Cadra cautella

(Walker, 1863)

Wingspan c. 16-20mm.

This is another adventive species, feeding as a larva on dried fruit as well as stored nuts, seeds and other warehouse foodstuffs.

Imported with the fruit etc., it has occurred throughout much of the British Isles, inside warehouses containing the foodstuffs. It flies at night and rests on the walls and windows during the day.

It can be found from May to October, in two generations.
