Bryotropha desertella

Wingspan c. 13mm.

This species is distributed around much of Britain's coastline, occupying sand dunes and similar habitats. It does venture inland occasionally but rather less commonly.

The adult moths fly between June and August and are attracted to light.

The larvae feeed on various mosses.
