Light Magpie Abraxas pantaria

(Linnaeus, 1767)

It is doubtful whether this European species has ever been recorded in the British Isles.

There is one old unsubstantiated record, and suggestions that it may have been recorded in the Channel Islands, but no confirmed records.

The species occurs in southern and eastern Europe, and the larvae feed on ash Fraxinus, where it can be a pest as a larva, stripping the leaves from the trees.
