1174 Epiblema cynosbatella

(Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan 16-22 mm.

The yellow labial palps of this moth readily distinguish it from several quite similar species.

It is generally common throughout Britain, and flies, mainly at night, from May to July, but can easily be disturbed during the day.

The larvae feed mainly on a variety of wild and cultivated rose (Rosa).
