1775 Mottled Grey Colostygia multistrigaria

(Haworth, 1809)

Wingspan 26-31 mm.

Fairly well distributed over much of the British Isles, though not especially common, this species occupies damp woodlands, mosses and heathland.

It has an early spring emergence, being on the wing in March and April.

The larvae feed on bedstraw (Galium) during early summer.
