1730 Spanish Carpet Scotopteryx peribolata

(Hübner, 1817)

Wingspan 28-33 mm.

This attractive geometer is resident in the Channel Islands, but otherwise has only occurred on a handful of occasions on the south coast of Britain.

The adult moths occur in August and September and can be flushed in the daytime from the foodplant.

The caterpillars are greyish and feed on broom (Cytisus).
