333 Phyllonorycter salictella viminiella

Wingspan 7-9 mm.A species generally inhabiting wetland habitats, the distribution of this moth extends throughout England and Wales and into southern Scotland. Elsewhere there are scattered records from Ireland and northern Scotland.
The main foodplants are the narrow-leaved willows, such as osier (Salix viminalis) and crack willow (S. fragilis). The larva feeds in an underside mine, usually near the edge of the leaf, causing it to fold over.
The adults fly in May and June and again in August. They have much less distinct markings than most other Phyllonorycter species.
