Wingspan 15-24 mm.Showing marked sexual dimorphism, the males of this species are smaller and more brightly marked than the females.
The adults are on the wing from dusk onwards between July and September and are attracted to light.
It is quite common throughout Britain, the larvae feeding in rolled leaves of various fruit trees such as raspberry, as well as cultivated rose.
