1839 Bordered Pug Eupithecia succenturiata

(Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan 20-23 mm.

A fairly easy species to identify, being one of only a few Pugs which are mainly black-and-white.

It is widely distributed throughout England and Wales, but local in Ireland and Scotland.

Occupying dry pastures, suburban habitats and waste ground, it flies in July and August.
