(Wocke, 1856)Wingspan 10-13 mm.
A relatively unassuming species which when fresh can have a slight pinkish hue to the forewings.
The species occurs in the southern counties of England, with only occasional records from the north.
Inhabiting waste ground, verges and similar habitiats, its flight period is from May through to August in a single protracted generation.
The larvae feed on mayweed, (Matricaria and Tripleurospermum) as well as golenrod (Solidago) and other Compositae. The flowers and seeds are consumed, or the larva lives in the stems and shoots, eating the pith.
