Wingspan c. 12mm.Distributed throughout much of the British Isles, this species flies during May and June, when it can be attracted to light.
The larva feeds between spun leaves, either on bog myrtle Myrica gale, on heaths and moors, or on oak (Quercus) in more lowland areas; the latter foodplant being more used in the south of its range.
