673 Depressaria pimpinellae

Zeller, 1839

Wingspan c. 18mm.

Distributed in southern England and parts of the Midlands north to Lancashire and Yorkshire, this is a rather local species.

The larvae feed on burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella saxifraga) and greater burnet-saxifrage (P. major) in a silken spinning.

Adult moths generally emerge in September and overwinter, appearing again in the following spring.
