567 Coleophora adspersella

Benander, 1939

Wingspan 13-16 mm.

The adults of this species have pale forewings with darker specks arranged between the veins, giving a faint striated appearance.

It is distributed only in the south of Britain, and flies between June and August, being mostly nocturnal.

The larval foodplant is usually orache (Atriplex spp.), the larvae feeding on the seeds and later forming a ribbed case in which they spend the winter.
