Wingspan c. 15mm.A relatively uncommon and local species, frequenting open wooded habitats and occurring in parts of England, Wales and Scotland.
The larvae feed on rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) and hawthorn (Crataegus), occupying a web on the surface of the leaves.
The adult moths are fairly uniform in appearance with a lightly speckled grey forewing and white apical patch, and a white head. They fly in June and July.
