2484 Pinion-streaked Snout Schrankia costaestrigalis

(Stephens, 1834)

Wingspan 16-22 mm.

Not much is known about the earlier stages of this species in the wild, as the larva has only ever been reared in captivity.

Marshy places, damp meadows and fens are the preferred habitat and it occurs locally over much of Britain.

The adults can be noted on the wing from July to October, possibly as two generations.
