([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 53-61 mm.

Quite a large species, which was temporarily established in single localities in Kent and East Sussex in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Otherwise, it is known as an immigrant species, mainly to the south and south-east.

The species inhabits woodland habitat and normally flies between May and June.
