(Fabricius, 1775)

Wingspan 32-39 mm.

Occurring reasonably commonly in England and Wales, more locally in Scotland and Ireland, this species frequents woodland and parkland.

The single generation flies in August and September, when it is readily attracted to light.

The larvae feed on oak, initially on the buds and later on the leaves.
