2191 Double Line Mythimna turca

(Linnaeus, 1761)

Wingspan 37-45 mm.

Distributed locally in south-western England, Wales and parts of south-east England, this appears to be a declining species.

It frequents mature woodland habitats, and flies in June and July.

The larva feeds at night on grasses, especially cock's-foot (Dactylus glomerata), wood meadow-grass (Poa nemoralis) and wood-rush (Luzula spp.).
