215 Corn Moth Nemapogon granella
(Linnaeus, 1758)
Wingspan c.10-15 mm.With a local but scattered distribution throughout much of Great Britain, this species has a tendency to be transported around due to its liking for stored food products.
It is similar to other species in the group, in particular N. cloacella, and care should be taken in identification.
The moth can be found any time from March to September, and the larvae feed on grain and other stored vegetable products indoors, as well as various bracket fungi out of doors.
