Wingspan c. 6 mm.This tiny species occurs locally in parts of southern England, flying in June and July.
The larva makes a distinctive blotch mine in a leaf of dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), rather like that of Antispila metallella, later cutting out a neat oval blotch to form a case in which it subsequently lives amongst leaf litter on the ground.
The larval mines can be located from August until early October.
