1492 Oxyptilus laetus

(Zeller, 1847)

Wingspan c. 14-23mm.

A rare migrant species to these shores, with only a small number of records, mainly from the southern counties of England, although there is one record from North Wales, and recently the first for Gloucestershire was found.

Abroad, the species occurs in southern Europe and North Africa, where the foodplants are recorded as Andryale species.. There is no evidence that the breeding has taken place in Britain.
