Wingspan 22-25 mm.Occupying grassy slopes and cliffs by the sea, this rather unusual-looking plume moth occurs locally in the south-western counties.
By day, it rests amongst the grass or even on the cliffs themselves. It closely resembles dried grass stems and is very well camouflaged.
The moths fly between July and October, in two generations.
The larvae feed on the leaves of Sea-lavender (Limonium binervosum).
