(Duponchel, 1843)

Wingspan c. 11mm.

Occurring mainly in the southern counties of England, this species is on the wing in August and September.

It inhabits woodland margins, hedgerows and scrubland, and is mainly day-flying, especially on sunny days. The adults have a distinctive white dorsal blotch.

The larva feeds on blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) and hawthorn (Crataegus), feeding on and spinning together flowers.
