Wingspan c.12 mm.A fairly local species, distributed mostly in the southern English counties but with scattered records further north, this is a relatively pale moth, the males having light-coloured hindwings.
The adults fly in June and July, and the larvae feed on common restharrow (Ononis repens), feeding inside the seed heads.
