1196 Eucosma metzneriana

(Treitschke, 1830)

Wingspan c. 18-23 mm.

This is a recent colonist to Britain. The first record was from Cambridgeshire in 1977; however, there is evidence that the species has been breeding in Kent from about 1999.

The moth is on the wing in June and July. The larvae feed on mugwort and wormwood (Artemisia spp.) in the autumn and spring.
