1178 Epiblema roborana

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 18-21 mm.

One of a difficult trio of species, also including E. trimaculana and E. rosaecolana.

The larva feeds mainly on rose (Rosa), forming a spinning amongst the leaves or shoots.

It is fairly common and well distributed through the British Isles, and the moths are at large between June and August.
