1007 Capua vulgana

Wingspan 13-19 mm.A fairly broad-winged Tortrix moth which is fairly common in woodland habitats throughout much of the British Isles.
The females are less well-marked than the males, which have paler markings on the base of the forewing, and a buff-coloured head.
The larvae feed on the leaves of a range of woodland trees and plants, including alder (Alnus), rowan (Sorbus) and bilberry (Vaccinium).
The main flight period is during May and June when the moths can be seen flying at dusk.
